As the Spring has arrived and term 4 approaches, many parents’ thoughts start to turn towards Christmas – which inevitably means presents. Choosing presents for kids who play differently can be challenging. We’ve put together a few ideas to help with choosing presents:-
Often little children with autism enjoy toys that have an ‘extra’ feature to gain their attention. This might mean that toys that ‘pop’, have lights, play music, move, make a noise, or have interesting textures. Some children love a combination of some of these features – this can help kids engage with the toy. When you are playing with your little one, try and notice what types of features seem to attract their attention more readily and then explore toys that highlight these.
