A fun and playful program that builds curiosity, confidence, imagination and connection. This is a wonderful way for the children to share their interests and play ideas,

Bring along your pretend pet friends for some fun and games.  The children will share their imaginations and interests while playing with their pretend pets. There’ll be animal yoga, story time, crafts and pretend play with friends.

Children will work and play together to practise:

• Sharing imagination & developing individual stories in pretend play situations with peers
• Joint attention when interacting with peers & listening to stories
• Asking & answering questions
• Working as a team to achieve a shared goal
• Awareness of bodies in space & understanding how to work in a group
• Developing turn-taking & negotiation skills
• Giving & following instructions, & using descriptive language to create crafts

This program supports NDIS Capacity Building goals, including functional communication, social participation, and transitions to new environments. Our Pretend Pet Pals helps to support the children’s participation and to achieve their unique therapy goals.

To build parent capacity, information, feedback, and flyers for parents are included as part of the program.
